The design from The Vintage Aviation Echo: Volume II pays tribute to the Duxford-based US Army Air Force 78th Fighter Group, featuring both razorback and bubble canopy P-47 Thunderbolts and P-51 Mustang representative of the 78th FG’s three Fighter Squadrons – a nod to No Guts, No Glory, Snafu and Twilight Tear, the three aircraft formerly owned by The Fighter Collection and adorned with 78th FG schemes – riffing on the cover design of the original USAAF P-47 pilot’s manual.
